Selling My house Without Stress

According to a recent article in The Daily Mail, selling your home is the single most stressful experience you will encounter in your life. It’s even more stressful than the end of a relationship or the loss of a job. Compounding this stress is the fear of not getting the best deal possible because some member of the team isn’t moving fast enough.

The good news is that there are a number of simple ways to minimize this stress by making the right decisions at the very beginning of the process. Before you have even decided to list your home you need to make sure you have the right team in place so you can act quickly and be nimble enough to respond to any sudden changes.

As the quarterback of the team, your realtor needs to go beyond simply creating a listing and arranging showings. Any good realtor will do all of these things well. An exceptionalrealtor will work closely with you to manage the details at each point in the process and help to reduce your overall stress level.

Naturally your home needs to be picture perfect anytime someone walks in. It needs to be absolutely spotless and smell pleasant and inviting at all times. Like many of us, you probably don’t have the time to stay on top of this in addition to everything else you have going on. Do you know of a cleaning service that specializes in homes up for sale? Probably not – and that’s OK. An outstanding realtor will be able to connect you with exactly the right resource.

Buyers have varying schedules so showings can take place at any time - typically between 9:00 am and 9:00 pm. You will need to be flexible and remember that the goal is to you have as many qualified buyers view your home as possible. Naturally this means that there are long periods of time where you will need to leave your home. Wouldn’t it be great if your realtor could suggest restaurants or activities that you and your family can enjoy as opposed to sitting in a parking lot waiting for your phone to ring and feeling your blood pressure go up?

The fact is that If your realtor is not helping you build the best possible team (staging experts, cleaners, lawyers, home inspectors, mortgage bankers etc.) you have to ask yourself how much are they alleviating your stress and how much are they contributing to it?

That’s the difference between good-enough and above-and beyond. This is the level of service I have been providing to my clients for years and is the cornerstone of my practice.

I would appreciate the chance to spend a few minutes discussing how I can help you drastically reduce the stress of the whole process - from before the beginning to after the end.
